What to do, Where to eat, Where to stay
From landscape photography opportunities, to some of the best food you will ever eat, Sedona Arizona is a no brainer for your bucket list.
If you have not yet discovered this gem, I 100% recommend a trip... like now...
I have been visiting Sedona to see family for over 20 years. This town is filled with high end restaurants, amazing breakfast, fudge shops, old fashioned ice cream parlors, gift shops, even a camera store (yes, I'm like a kid in a candy store in there). You are surrounded by some of the most photogenic scenery you will ever see as you drive down 89A. The travel photography opportunities are endless.
The little town is located about 30 minutes south of Flagstaff. If you are feeling adventurous and want to take the scenic route, take 89A, or what the locals call, "The Canyon Road."
Things to do-
Take a jeep tour. They are worth every single penny. There are too many jeep tour companies to name in Sedona, but I recommend and exclusively use Safari Jeep Tours. Every driver is educated on the local Native American history, names of the red rocks, and the tall tales. Your guide might even be able to show you where famous scenes in old westerns were filmed.
Hiking is always a wonderful option as well. One of my personal favorites is the hike to The Devil's Bridge. It ended up being about 5 miles round trip, with quite a bit of climbing.
Cross the bridge at your own risk. I walked out a little ways on it and then turned right back around. It is a LONG way down.
If hiking isn't your thing, you can always rent 4-wheelers. Its very easy to find a rental location.
Additionally, art galleries are plentiful. A must see is Greg Lawson's "Passion For Place" Art Gallery. I have had the privilege of meeting this amazing man and being mentored by him. His art gallery is bursting at the seams with incredible imagery.
Where to eat-
When I think about Sedona, and then think about the food, the first place that pops in to my mind is The Coffee Pot. This little hole in the wall breakfast and lunch restaurant is one of the most unique places I have ever been to. Their extensive menu has 101 different types of omelets. From the food, the unique coffee mugs, and the colorful artwork covering all of the walls, you will surely fall in love as soon as you walk through the door.
Another option (Yes, I know this is polar opposite) is an exquisite restaurant called Mariposa. Floor to ceiling glass windows, breathtaking views, incredible food... need I say more?
The owner of Mariposa owns a local pizza place, Pisa Lisa as well. With gluten free and vegan options available, you can't go wrong with this place.
Where to stay-
Okay, so I'm sure you are all wondering where the heck this photo was taken. This was actually taken in the living room at my grandmother's house. I have been so blessed to be able to stay with her every time my family is there for a visit.
I bet you're also wondering, "How the heck is there snow there?" You guy's won't believe this... I took this photo on Christmas morning 2016. CHRISTMAS MORNING. White Christmases at this elevation in Arizona are pretty rare. It is fairly easy to say that we were all thrilled.

Between all of the hotels, resorts, motels, condos, rental houses, and airbnb's you will easily find something for anyone's budget. There is a Best Western right on 89A on the north end of town with pretty fantastic views. But lets be honest, unless you are specifically going to Sedona for a spa vacation, you won't be spending a whole lot of time in that hotel room. I say get something mid range and splurge on the food, shopping, and adventures.
I hope this has been insightful and I can't wait to further update you on things to do and see in Sedona as I return over the years.
