Hunt Wedding, Sunshine Mountain Lodge | Colorado
Mr and Mrs Hunt's wedding in the mountains was an absolute dream. They did everything themselves. The decorations, set up, scouting out the lodge, the food, and the flowers (shout out to Callie the Maid of Honor for letting me help out with the flowers and teaching me some florist basics).
This wedding was a little unlike most. It was my sister's wedding. I doubled as one of her bridesmaids, and the photographer, which was an absolute blast!
The day started early, scouting out a little breakfast spot with my fiancé, parents, and older brothers. On our way back to the lodge, we took a wrong turn... But it turned out to be one of the best things that could've happened. We discovered the PERFECT field. Misty mountains in the morning light were surrounding the field in every direction. We knew this was THE spot for Meghan and Jonathan's bridal portraits.
Wedding set up began as soon as we got back to the lodge. The guys set up the tables, chairs, strung the twinkle lights, and the food. Meanwhile, Meghan and I headed upstairs in the lodge to get to work on her hair and makeup. Doing my sister's makeup for her wedding day was such a privilege. Callie, (MOH and dream wedding planner) joined us upstairs along with the third bridesmaid, Jenna, to help with the finishing touches to the Bride's dress, hair, jewelry, and makeup. A few minutes later, the groomsmen sent pizza and beer upstairs for us to munch on while we finished getting ready.
Meg and Jonathan chose to do a first look before dinner and the ceremony. Jonathan and I went out to a little stone bench behind the lodge and waited for Meghan to come down from the lodge. The smiles on their faces when they saw each other were priceless.
Grilled pizza was on the dinner menu pre ceremony, prepped by the groomsmen themselves. It was absolutely delicious (and photogenic)!
Meghan and Jonathan said their I Do's under an arbor covered in wisteria and baby's breath, with hundreds of lit candles on the rocks behind them. Surrounded by family, and officiated by our Dad, Meghan and Jonathan took the next huge step in their relationship.
After the ceremony, we snuck Meghan and Jonathan out for their portraits in that open field surrounded by the mountains we had found by accident earlier that day. After lots of frolicking, dancing, running, and laughing, we headed back to the lodge for dessert and dancing.
As the sun went down, the twinkle lights were lit, Costco cake was cut, and a fire was started for s'mores!
Meg and Jonathan danced the rest of the night away under the stars in the chilly mountain air.
Thank you guys for trusting me to capture your big day. It was a HUGE honor.
